Ingredients :
- 2 haddock fillets (or fish of your choice)
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt and Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper powder
For the dough:
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 2 tablespoons corn flour (add cornmeal to get a more crunchy mixture)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt, to season
- 250ml cold soda water or cold beer – approx
- frying oil
Instructions :
1- Prepare the fish by soaking it in spices. Covering & set apart while preparing blend.
2 – TimeIn a mixing bowl we add the ingredients for the dry mixture. Add salt and whisk together.
3 – Make a hole in the middle by adding the liquid. Using a hand whisk or mix a fork to form a thick mixture.
4 – Leave the mixture to rest for 5 minutes while heating the oil for frying.
Time oil is hot enouugh, you can starting frying. The oil must very hot at 190 ° C.
5 – Dip the marinated fish pieces piece by piece in the mixture until they are covered evenly and fry for 3-4 minutes or until crispy and golden.
6 – Transfering it to a dish with a paper. Repeat with the remaining fish pieces, if you are frying a lot of fish, I recommend reheating the oil in between batches.
7 – Enjoy either chucky chips, potato wedges, or salad. And if you’re like me, dip in some chili sauce.
