12 ounces soft caramels (homemade or store-bought)
6 ounces pecans (halves, toasted)
8 ounces chocolate (semi-sweet, chips are fine)
1 Gather the ingredients 02 Prepare a baking sheet by covering it with foil or parchment paper and sprinkling nonstick cooking spray on the foil or parchment paper. 03 Arrange the pecans in groups of 4 with each pecan pointing in a different direction (eg turtle feet). You can also simply throw them in small groups on a baking sheet. 04 Unroll the wrapped caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. If they are very hard, add a spoonful of water to soften the final product. Microwave them until melted, stirring every 30 seconds 05 Let the caramel cool slightly so that it is not too hot, then use a spoon or teaspoon to pour a spoonful of caramel in each bunch of pecans. They’re meant to be rustic chocolates, so don’t worry about keeping the round turtles or some of the pecans running through them.
