Strawberry Shortcake with Cookie Crumbles



For the cake :

  • 1 cup butter at room temp
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 cups cake flour, sifted
  • 1Tbs baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 Line 3 – 9 inch cake pans with parchment paper then butter and flour pans. Beat butter & sugar together until pale and creamy In medium bowl, combine cake flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl whisk together milk, eggs and vanilla extract. Add flour mixture to butter mixture in 3 additions, alternating with milk mixture and ending with flour mixture. Divide batter between pans and bake for 20-23 minutes or until barely golden brown and spring back when touched. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely

For the Strawberries :

1 pint fresh strawberries sliced 1 pack strawberry glaze

Slice strawberries and mix with glaze

For the icing:

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped cream

Beat together cream cheese and sugars until smooth. Stir in whipped cream.

For the crumbles :

  • 1 pkg Golden Oreos
  • 1 large box strawberry gelatin
  • 1-2 drops red food coloring
  • 2 Tbs melted butter
  • 1 Tbs ice water

Mix all ingredients in food processor and pulse until crumbly. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, stirring often. Cool completely
